With the rapid development of network technology and the official support for game industry that the National Sports Administration has confirmed the election sport game as the formal game in sports meeting, the industry of network game is developing prosperously. Along with it, People get more and more interesting in network casual game. Recently, there come into being large quantities of chess on line games platforms that QQ game and our game as the leader. Therefore, the developmemt of network casual game has become one of the popular direction in this field.Firstly, this paper based on the background of network game, introduces the sorts of network casual game, and combined the development situation of network game industry, points out the thesis' s research sense.Secondly, thesis armed to the development of network casual game platform, analyzes the architecture of network casual game on server systemly, and combined existing application development models about network game, puts forward a solution to carry out the server structure for casual game platform.Thirdly, based on the above work, the key technology in the process of designing network game structure is discussed, such as network communication;then this paper debates several socket I/O models used for the network communication, carrys out the network game communication used of select I/O model.Lastly, the protocol defined by oneself in the communi -cations of network games platform is designed and implemented.
