Web-based applications have become the mainstream and best industry practice of this century. More and more sophisticated functions and UI actions are injected into the modem web-based applications. However, limited by the nature of this kind of applications, much redundant work is being done on navigation, security, DB access, logging and cache. Although many design patterns are available to the designers and developers, code can still not be used. This paper is providing a light weight framework for role based web applications, both design and code, to help minimize the effort on designing and coding the navigation, security, DB access, logging and cache modules when developing such an application. It's a completely configurable framework, by using Reflection and XML technology and many design patterns, nearly 100% of the code is reusable. The developer just needs to work on the configuration files, and then, the whole framework works.A successful project, which monitors the risk of billions of dollars and used this framework, is also introduced to prove it.
