Space, Property and time are three basic elements of geography information. Traditional GIS pays attention to information about space and property, so it is a static GIS. Temporal GIS adds time information into GIS, studies the rules of changes following time to represent geographic phenomena. Dynamic visualization of spatio-temporal based on temporal GIS is very important for describing geographic information and enhancing the level of decision supports. This thesis applies the theory of spatio-temporal data visualization in water resources information system and realizes dynamic visualization of water flow, which system offers efficient decision supports for the deployment of wate resources in South-to-North water Transfer Project of Shandong province.The thesis studies the basic theories of temporal GIS and classifies dynamic changes of spatio-temporal into three types: changes based on property, changes based on position and integrated changes. And the thesis compares several spatio-temporal data model, analyzes the characters of wate flows' data. All these studies provide the fundation of designing and programming of dynamic visualization.Based on above researches, the thesis designs the system of dynamic visualization of water flow information based on ArcObjects platform, realizes dynamic visualization of changes about wate quality and dynamic simulation of process of wate flow.
