Research And Implement Of The 3D Braiding Composites CAD System Based On KBE

At the age of knowledge economy and drastic competition, responding to the market rapidly is the main factor to the victory of a corporation. Therefore, merging the knowledge and experience into the CAD/CAM/CAE/CAPP system to realize the intelligent design is the preferential schema to respond rapidly for the corporation. we researched and executed the 3D braiding composites CAD system based on KBE, on the basic of Pro/E.The paper mainly studied the following contents:(1) This paper researched technique on KBE and the Orient Object Design method , applied them into creating models, setting up Knowledge Base, program design. Used advanced idea in guiding the research of the whole system.(2) This paper sat up the model base by the theory of parametric design based on feature. The knowledge and experience of design were merged into every model to realize the integrating of rules and criterions in design with the parametrically drive mechanism.(3)It studied about the key technique of secondary development in Pro/E using Pro/Toolkit. On the basic of these key technique, communication between Pro/E and the secondarily developed CAD system and the function of parametrically drive models were realized.(4)The mathematical model is defined for the process design on the basis of the microstructure of 3D braided composites. According to the topological analysis of the unit cells, the relationship between the braiding parameters is established, such as braiding angle, braiding pitch, fiber volume fraction, dimension of composites etc.. Based on the mathematical formulas, the mainly process design parameters can becalculated by the iterative method.(5)Based on above researches, Using CAD software Pro/E as the platform, this paper developed the 3D braiding composites CAD system based on KBE.With the research of the system, the design of 3D braiding composites is made totally by computer. The technicians are freed from drawing and the complex calculation, the precision and speed of process design are enhanced, which contributes greatly to the design quality of 3D braided composites.
