With the diccussion of diversified former methods and technologies of generated virtual environment, several new algorithms are presented in this dissertation to simulate different objects in the environment. These new algorithms can draw geometry with few polygons and accelerate its drawing speed with little calculation. At the same time good image quality is obtained. A walkthrough is implemented in the environment in this dissertation.By using former algorithms and new methods in this dissertation, a raining environment is simulated. The raining environment includes terrain, sky, cloud, and raindrop. The following algorithms are presented in this dissertation.1. Terrain is generated with random digital elevation model and interpolation based on Catmull_Rom spline.2. Simulation of raindrops and ripples in 3D with method of region segmentation based on OpenGL.3. Sky and cloud are simulated with a method called dome.Objects are drawed by using kinds of OpenGL functions and texture mapping to reach simple program, little calculation, culling aliasing, speeding drawing, adding lighting and fog. Finally, real-time raining enrvironment simulation is obtained with satisfied results. |
