The Research On Layout Analysis Methods Of Form Image

The digital information is the most precious resources in the mankind along with the coming of information age. Form is one of the most familiar information carriers, so it has been one of the research hotspots that how the information in the form is electronic and digital. The form image layout analysis is the important part of form image document electronic, so the accuracy of form layout analysis has direct effect on efficiency of character. The paper mostly focuses on form image layout analysis algorithms. At first, the development of form image layout analysis and the actuality of domestic and overseas is introduced briefly, and some kinds of image noise's filtering methods and two-value methods are introduced based on form image characteristic. A prime entropy threshold two-value algorithm is improved on by grads adjustment, which is proved avoiding losing the information of image fringe and reducing form lines part. Secondly, owing to the form image skew, a skew detection and correction based on the directional single-connected chain is adopted. Thirdly, some kinds of form lines detection algorithms are introduced and the mathematical morphology algorithm to obtain the form lines is improved on. Because of not obtaining the width of the most wide character in the form image, the improved algorithm has high speed and efficiency. The last, the layout analysis methods of extracting form cells by the feature Points and extracting form matrixes by form topological and geometric structure are presented, and all algorithms are carried out by experimentation.
