With the development of national defense and aerospace industry, detachmentdetection for solid rocket motor is the most pressing issue. But traditionalCT is deficient in detachment detection because of the length of rocket diameterand the thickness of the detachment. In this paper, the characters of solid rocket motor detachment and itsdetection requirement is researched. Then we put forward a CT technology of partprojection area in tangent direction. That is the middle of the X rays travelsthe shell in tangent direction and the detectors will receive a little projectiondata. The tangent projection is received in a invariable angle distance and range.Based on FBP, the reconstruction will amend the truncated data to accord withthe integrated condition. We do a simulated research of solid rocket motordetachment to analyze the projection and the reconstruction result. Some methodsare proposed to resolve the choices of filter function, projection of angledistance and number in order to give the theory direction of solid rocket motordetachment detection.Another importance in this paper is CT reconstruction by this technologyto some preserved radiographic film. Detachment in the constructed slice is clear.But owing to being lack of data and inaccurate registration, the distortion andblurred length of detachment is occurred. Accordingly, slice reconstruction ofCT in Tangent Direction must base on accurate and enough data.
