Geothermal energy as a kind of cleanly resources has been regarded by moreand more people around the world. As same as the other resources, how to make useof geothermal energy continuously is an important problem.In order to resolve some problem what existed in the management ofexploitation of geothermal resource in Tianjin district, such as the lag of managementand lack of supervision, this dissertation researched the application of GIS ingeothermal energy field, and a practical GIS-based geothermal resource managementsystem has been developed. By GIS, we can implement the information of geothermalresource in Tianjin management on maps and data visualization conveniently. By thisway, the management level of geothermal resource in Tianjin is improved.This dissertation has developed a practical GIS-based geothermal resourcemanagement system. The system is constituted of the station sub-system and themonitoring center sub-system, and the dissertation mainly emphasizes the monitoringcenter sub-system. It's main works are listed as follows:1. Depending on the electronic map and the geographic features of Tianjin, GISapplication is included to the geothermal resource management system, and adatabase for the GIS application system is designed and implemented.2 Current Search algorithms in GIS are discussed and researched in thisdissertation. We implemented the conditional query of the geothermal well byadopting entirely comparative methods and provided associated browse of thegraphics and data. It can effectively facilitate the maintenance of the geothermalresource.3. According to the GIS developmental trend, another implement method is putforward——WebGIS reso1ution in the Linux Cluster. This dissertation describes theprinciple and structure of MapXtreme which is a representative WebGIS softwareplatform and provides a WebGIS resolution based on MapXtreme.
