The Model-Driven Architecture is a new software methodology initiated by Object Management Group in 2001. It separates the specification of system functionality from that of the implementation of that functionality on a particular technology platform, and meets "Design once, implement it on any platform" .This dissertation applies the model transformation from PIM to PSM with the developing process of university cadre management system, empirically tests the validity which integrates the idea into practical developments, and resolves the problem existing in university cadre management. The primary achievements are below.1) The dissertation systemically states the basic principle and developing process, analyses the inevitability of MDA. It is that mastering the related technology standards is necessary in order to understand its idea. The dissertation introduces the four core standards: MOF, UML, XMI, CWM and so on.2) The dissertation demonstrates roundly that viewing management information system design as a whole is important, and points out that the center of information system constructing is datum. Also the dissertation introduces the stratagem, the principle and technologies used in management information system and analyses the development and process model. That the key for MIS development is building at interaction and activity.3) Importing MDA idea, using the model transformation method and OptiamlJ as a tool, parts of functions of poll testing sub-system are conducted by model transformation. The result provides the feasibility that applying model transformation from PIM to PSM into developing.4) Designing and developing university cadre management information system (UCMIS) by using MVC model. Structure analysis is conducted from both technological and functional views. Functions like user management, cadre information management, statistical analysis, poll test and system maintaining are designed particularly; the functions of sub-systems, operating rights, out- and in-put, algorithm, and flow logic are illuminated by charts and words. The software UCMIS is applied by some people and deals withsome questions.At last, we draw some conclusions and show the prospect of further research.
