In this thesis the author discussed the existing problems when adopting conventional control to the industrial objects with characters of large time-delay, being nonlinear, time varying and even serious unpredictable interference. The author comprehensively expatiated on the concept, characteristics of the model predictive control and structural form of the model predictive control system. The author discussed and studied the basic algorithm of the model predictive control, internal model control structure, space form of the predictive state of the algorithm; and on this base, analyzed and put forward the cascade control system that combine the predictive control and the conventional control PID, illustrated by simulation tests that the DMC-PID cascade control algorithm can be effectively applied to the large time-delay process control.
