Recently, with the development of computer technology medical imaging technology,image registration and fusion of medical image processing has become a hotspot. It's a medical imaging science, an area that intersects computer technology and modern information science. Right now it's widely used in clinical research.The core task for medical image registration and fusion algorithm is to comprehensively expound medical image registration, integrate mathematical methods, medical knowledge and ideas, such as computer programming. This in-depth study of the medical image registration and fusion of the related technologies solve the traditional multi-mode medical image registration and fusion problems. The main work can be summarized as follows:Medical image registration is a prerequisite for image fusion; registration errors directly affect the fusion result. In this paper, mutual information based registration method is reviewed; the objective function based on mutual information is often not smooth. There are many local maxima, which gives a lot of difficulties to the optimal process of registration. According to Newton's gravitation, it brings out that an optimization model is based on a method of probability, and compare with several traditional methods. Experimental results show that this method can effectively overcome the local maxima of mutual information in registration accuracy, moreover, it good for time registration and anti-nose performance.The traditional wavelet-based image fusion method has some problems, in order to further satisfy the requirements of image fusion on the right direction, this paper studies the principle and performance contourlet transformation based on the proposed sensitivity analysis. In this method, contourlet multi-resolution, locality and direction effectively capture the source image in detail, texture, direction of information, enhance the visibility of the fused image and obtain the higher quality medical images.Traditional medical image registration and image fusion are usually based on multi-separation method, registration, further integration, considering the majority of image registration for the purpose of subsequent fusion, this paper deals with image registration process. The advantage of this approach is to give the purpose of image registration methods and make the fused image higher quality.
