Compared with sensors based on other principles, fiber Bragg grating (FBG) sensors have several distinguishing advantages, such as, excellent electric insulation, resistance of the interference of electromagnetic, high sensitivity. FBG sensor is widely used in the aviation industry, civil engineering, electric power industry, the oil industry, the medical industry, and so on. FBG sensors are one of the most exciting developments in the field of fiber-optic sensors in recent years. Although kinds of demodulation techniques have been developed, most of them have not yet met the requirements of the practical application. FBG sensing signal demodulation system based on ARM and match grating method is proposed in this paper. The main content of the dissertation is:The practical applications of FBG sensors in recent years are enumerated, and kinds of typical FBG sensing signal demodulation technology are explained briefly. FBG sensor's strain sensing principle has been analyzed, and a FBG strain sensing demodulation method is proposed based on the cantilever and the cantilever structure is designed in the paper. The formula of the FBG strain sensing used in the paper is demonstrated in detail. The realationship between the step and the movement of the Bragg wavelength is obtained after the test which being carried to the cantilever. FBG sensing signal demodulation system based on ARM and match grating method is proposed. The module circuits of the system are designed, such as, photoelectric conversion circuit, amplifier, filter circuit, motor control circuit, LCD circuit, USB port circuit, et al.μC/OSII is used to manage the application programs to improve the reliability and stability of the system. The data sent to PC is processed by LabVIEW and the fesiability of the demodulation system is confirmed by the result of the experimental.
