Nowadays, the video monitor systems is that with complex structure,high cost and not flexible. This paper with the popular processors in the market of the embedded chip of ARM9 to build a net video monitoring system. That can make the structure greatly simplified. Another major problem of video monitoring System is that real-time communication problem, because video data is enormous, not only require large amounts of storage device as the communication buffer, but also loaded with the DSP chip compression compression, it would greatly increase the cost. In this paper, with the JPEG image compression algorithm, to compress the each frame of video images in memory to achieve the transmission of video information, that can be achieved the real-time transmission of video effect, and also cost the savings.The major work of this paper are:1,To complete the establishment of the embedded system hardware environment, including embedded processors, memory chips, and make the system function of the actual network video monitoring system of network controller chip and USB controller chip camera sensor. To complete the establishment of the embedded network video monitoring system software environment , including the transplant of embedded Linux , network controller chip and USB controller chip camera sensor drivers in the embedded Linux environment.2,To complete the actual function with Embedded Network Video Monitoring System with the software, including using the JPEG image compression algorithm of the C language implementation to compress to the capturing video frame in the memory, and to transfer each frame to the monitoring side control with Network transmission technology;Transplant the embedded Web server, in the monitoring side ,to use the Java applet to receive video information and display it in the embedded Web page, in order to achieve the purpose of video surveillance. With the experiments,it is proving this method of using embedded technology to implement Network Video Monitoring System, and verify it is effective that to achieve real-time video transmission function with the software.
