The Design And Implementation Of Class Note System

Electronic information technology is developing rapidly since the 20th century. All trades and professions nowadays are accelerating the informationization construction in their respective fields, so that to adapt to the historical trend and do better in promoting their own development.Informationization in the education industry is progressing gradually, from hardware playing the dominant role in the past to focusing both on hardware and software at present. As more and more convenience and benefits the development of technology is bringing to human, some disadvantages occur simultaneously either. For example, with the appearance of an increasing number of various education resources in class, such large amount of information puts great pressure on students'study as well.Students have no sufficient time to read the information, and it's difficult for them to grasp the significant items from piles of information effectively. It has become a problem demanding prompt solution for student nowadays how to handle with the large amount of knowledge,pick up the key point of them and digest knowledge in class effectively. In this paper, a new class notes system is presented to solve this problem.This paper introduces some related software at home and abroad, and summarizes the function, advantages and disadvantages of diverse notes products in comparison with the note software at first. Then it describes the theory of cognitive psychology, cognitive science and personal knowledge management associated with notes, and explores the function characteristics and a strategy mode of notes in theory. It summarizes the software should have some main functions including labeling and arrangementing by the way of analysising software products and theory.In addition, it comes to build a basic framework of the note system through analyzing the system's business combining with actual class. Then it designs the system's database model and divides the software into four modules.The system uses a B/S structure with plug-in mode. Input part in Front-end uses the plug-in mode, information management in background uses B/S structure. The main target of this system is courseware, so in the process of design, the problem of information association has been taken into consideration. In the course of actual development, the function of Front-end is realized on IE browser and firefox, the background management is developed by JAVA. In order to overcome some technical difficulties, this paper yet provides some solutions based on existing technologies. It realizes labeling courseware by the way of browser plug-in. For the sake of page positioning, this system uses Xpath with text offset in DOM node and page coordinates. Two methods of displaying notes are adopting. One is to display notes in the explorer bar on the left of browser, the other is in the WEB. Information is mainly stored in local and network, and transmitted by asynchronous AJAX. This system manages information by the way of WEB.The system has several functions, including courseware releasing, making notes, organize notes, browsing notes, communication etc.It is implemented on popular browsers, the plug-in function, and it provides a simple but effective way for students to take notes. Simple to install and easy to use. It can aid students to master and administer knowledge in class efficiently. Of course, some insufficiencies still exist in the system and many places need to be improved, it will be what the next step need have to do.
