In recent years, the spatial data acquisition technology has become one of the hot topics in the field of the geospatial science and technology. As the spatial entities in the vast nature are usually with complicated shapes and constitutions, we have a hard time in representing the objects'authentic data efficiently and accurate by using traditional 3 dimensional data acquisition technologies. Thus, how to approach the objects' accurate data efficiently has become one of the key technology problems for the spatial science. Today new technologies are now providing us with new methods of acquiring the spatial data, which make the integration, intelligentize, dynamic, of the spatial data become possible. The terrestrial LiDAR technology is one of such technologies that come into being by the technology demand of our times. As a new surveying and mapping technology, it not just obtains the objects'spatial data fast and accurate, but also represents them with real time and dynamic information. With no doubt, the Terrestrial LiDAR technology will become the second revolution after the GPS technology in the mapping field. This paper presents a way to reconstruct three-dimensional tree models based on point clouds from terrestrial LiDAR (TLiDAR). This essay did several studies through the acquisition of the cloud data to the application of the 3D entities, and mainly focuses on the following items:the optimization of the planning for the outdoor data collecting, the noise reduction and the match algorithm for the cloud data, and most importantly established a simple and practical approach of model construction. To input data of fixed format into AutoCAD and 3DMAX to reconstruct models through LiDAR scanning software, with an advantage of that, we can use general software to reconstruct tree model from point clouds; the model is accurate and relatively insensitive to occlusion-induced artifacts with less interference, and any part of the volume size could be taken. The result of the method confirms the appropriateness of the proposed tree reconstruction model for the generation of structurally of existing plant,be able to meet the requirements of 3D green biomass and biomass calculations.
