As a consistent and popular research branch in computer graphics, Simulation of natural scenery is widely applied to television advertising, film effects,3D animation and games, virtual reality, and military field, and so on. It plays a very important role in the information age with its unique charm. However, the shape of most natural things, such as flame, rivers, spray, rain, snow, waterfalls, fog etc, is changing stochastically, thus making it difficult to model and visualize these natural sceneries by using traditional methods of modeling and simulation. The particle system has become the most mature simulation technology of simulation of natural scenery over the period of 20 years'development. In this sense, the simulation of natural scenery is also a challenging task.Based on a careful study of the previous related work and common simulation of natural scenery and the demand and application of virtual scene for video game, this thesis is intended to expound the newly developed particle system grounded on After Effects SDK, which is aimed to achieve the effect of the friendly interaction, sense of verisimilitude and synchronization as well as to facilitate the teaching.Firstly, to have carried out a in-depth probe into the theory of the particle system and its application gained through the 20 years'development and a detailed analysis of the basic principles and the basic model of particle system.Secondly, to have simplified the mathematical models of the thing like fire, clouds, snow, and rain and established the particle system models.Thirdly, to have designed and achieved a three-dimensional particle special effects system based on After Effects SDK for usual nature sceneries simulation. The thesis offers a detailed description of the system demand, overall goal, frame and structure, system design, and the functions and realization of all the modules.Lastly, to have analyzed particle system application in higher vocational teaching and summarized this system's advantages and the disadvantages so as to lay the foundation for the later research work.
