Research And Application Of The Digital Right Management System Based On The BHO

With the rapid development of informationizatin and the integrity of the office automation in enterprises and institutions, digital form has become predominant in the information storage and processing area. In this situation, it is extremely important to monitor the data which contains the secure information of the enterprises or institutions. Therefore, Enterprise Digital Rights Management (EDRM) is widely used among enterprises or institutions, because of its effective control on the leak of data and copyright infringement. On the other hand, current version of EDRM is not appropriate to be employed in complex environment due to its incapability of the supervision on data authorization, data protection and the control of secondary spread of information.Aiming at the design of a more suitable EDRM for medium-sized and small enterprises, research work is done and presented in this paper:(1) The theory and applications of BHO (Browser Helper Object) technology are analyzed and investigated; the feasibility and advantages of applying BHO technology to the control of browsers are discussed. Comparing with the technology of DDE(Dynamic data exchange) or active, BHO technology shows the simplicity and convenience, as well as an extent of authority, on the control of Internet Explorer Browser.(2) The structures and architectures of DRM and EDRM are researched. Relative technologies for the protection of digital information of EDRM system are discussed in detail. Deficiencies of EDRM system currently employed in medium-sized and small enterprises are pointed out.(3) A new BHO-technology-based real time monitoring plug-in is proposed for the monitoring of data and information in the stage of provide date. Experiment shows that the new type of plug-in can protect data exchange efficiently and demonstrates its security for the client.(4) This new BHO-technology-based real time monitoring plug-in is employed in the context of EDRM system. Some key technologies of this application are discussed. Moreover, improvements are made based on the previous mechanism of password-encryption. By considering network,user's personal information,rights,and integrating the technologies of Plug-in,browser monitor,registry,the technology of file-monitor,A new EDRM system, based on the double-Encrypttion, is designed and realized.(5) The feasibility and effectiveness of the application for the Enterprise Digital Rights protected based on BHO technology are verified. Existing problems of current version of EDRM are solved regarding to the information security of the enterprise digital rights management. Besides, new applications of BHO technology are explored.
