The Design And Implementation Of Intelligent Monitoring Software Based On Symbian Smartphone

Video monitoring is widely applied in many occasions because of its intuitive, accurate, timely and rich information content. Intelligent video analysis technology is the core of the intelligent video surveillance system. In the mode of front-end embedded intelligent analysis, the front-end embedded video collection device captures video and processes it simultaneously. This mode can reflect the most advantage of the embedded video surveillance system. Nowadays, video monitoring permeates gradually from traditional industry field into the family and personal field which is of great potential according to the situation of foreign markets. This study topic comes from the research of the front-end embedded video surveillance device with intelligent analysis function.The purpose of this study is to develop a prototype of the intelligent video monitoring software for the front-end device of video surveillance system. A mobile phone with camera function was used as the substitute of the embedded front-end device, and this thesis developed the software for Symbian smart phone. This study will promote the development of commercial product of family intelligent video monitoring device, and also is of great reference meanings for the development of Symbian applications.The first part of this thesis focuses on the general design of the software, in which the functions of the software is carefully defined. The next part studies the key technologies of the application development on Symbian S60 platform. Then, a novel moving object detection method is studied and the NokiaCV library is used to implement this method. Finally, the software is developed using the IDE Carbide.C++ and tested on the Nokia N95 smart phone.
