3GPP started the work of defining a long-term evolution (LTE) for 3G at the end of 2004. LTE will stretch the performance of 3G technology. The purposes of this evolution are reducing users and operators'costs, improving service provisioning at the same time. This will be met through improved coverage and system capacity as well as increased data reduced latency. The paper's main task is designing and implementing the channel coding modules of LTE. So first a general introduction of LTE uplink and downlink is given, then a lot of work is done on CRC coding, Turbo, Rate-matching and HARQ processing. After that the paper investigated picoArray's development KIT picoTools and gave a brief introduction of picoChip's CPE7203 integrated development board, the main development platform of this paper. Then the paper proposed the architecture design of LTE channel coding modules. At last the paper verified the implementation through three ways:comparation with Matlab platform, verification by 3rd part's test vectors and analysis by aid of testing equipments. Communication between LTE mobile tester and test UE was established. And then the implementation used in the mobile tester product successfully. This demonstrates that the implementation scheme provided by the paper is a time-saving and low-cost solution for LTE baseband function.
