UV communication is a new communication mean, it has some special characteristics of flexibility, low wiretapping, Omni bearing and non line-of-sight communication that are its unique advantages compared with other conventional communication. An important and potentially large class of applications for ultraviolet non-line-of-sight communication is short-range, secret communication. It can be considered as a supplement of conventional communication. So it can meet the needs of secure communication between warships and airplane formation. In addition, the ultraviolet rays mainly transmit by scattering way and the transmission distance is limited, which determines the ultraviolet communications system has the non-line of sight communication characteristic in the limited scope. Now, UV communication is still a new research direction in many countries, whose research is general exploration and development stages. Modulation-demodulation of the UV is still a difficulty. Meanwhile, it is difficult to improve the speed of transmission for UV communication system, which can't meet the speech transmission speed.Firstly, ultraviolet light transmitting performance in atmosphere is analysed. When the solar ultraviolet radiation passes through atmosphere, the 200~300nm ultraviolet band is absorbed by the ozonosphere so strongly that it can't reach the earth's surface. So it is called solar blind ultraviolet light. Besides, ultraviolet light is suitable for Non Line-of-Sight communication for its high level scattering performance which is another advantage compared to other models.The following the main work is set up the framework of UV communication system:including source, modulation circuit, transmitter circuit, receiver circuit, the signal processing circuit. On the basis of the former work, the next station is mainly about demodulation of ultraviolet communications system. Has been designed demodulation system based on software where the processor is STM32. After the simulation, it can realize the basic communications requirements.
