P2P (Peer-to-Peer) has become one of the most popular issues in infomation technology domain recently, which has attracted much attention from research and industry field. P2P technology can solve problem of the C/S traditional architecture whose server-side pressure is high and which is easy to be invalid because of single point failure. Correspondingly, DSN (Distributed service network) and other P2P network structure with carrier-level operational capabilities is proposed.Since the P2P network is a complex, large scale and high dynamic system, it is prohibitively expensive and unpractical to research P2P technology by deploying it in an existing network eviromnent. A powerful P2P simulator plays an increasingly important role in evaluating the new or existing P2P applications.According to the situation and requirements mentioned above, this paper chooses P2P live streaming service as a entry point, and designs a P2P live streaming simulation platform, which a subsystem for the newly moblie business control network. It aims to provide theoretical basis for the implementation in reality.At first, this paper surveys the related work of P2P simulation, describes the design principle of existing P2P simulator and the key techiques to resolve. Based on the above work, we introduce the design of the simulation platform, including the designing concepts and the architecture. And then, in order to achieve the capabilities the P2P live streaming requires, we propose the hierarchical model of P2P streaming, which includes the network structure, the function of the entity and the servicing procedure. The media chunk scheduling strategy plays an important role in P2P streaming. It is divided to peer node choosing strategy and chunk distribution strategy, and is also introduced in this paper. At last, the detailed design of user equipment and testing case is presented. The result shows that this simulation platform is avaible and effective.
