TrustChord: Research And Implementation Of A Trust Chord Protocol

Chord is a DHT-based lookup location protocol, with feathers like loading balance, robustness and good scalability。Because of its consistent hash feature, Chord has been applied to many practical situations。Such as positioning search in P2P, distributed file systems, distributed databases, inter-domain routing lookup and so on。Because the nodes in Chord have only part of the network topology information and the anonymity of the internet, Chord nodes are vulnerable to malicious nodes attack。The traditional method to defend the attack behavior is only for specific security issue, needs to be further improved。In this paper, we propose and implement TrustChord:A trust chord protocol based on the trust management system, and we introduce the certificate and trust mechanisms。In TrustChord, we develop a specific format and content of the lookup message and put forward an effective attack discovery mechanism。Through that we can find the malicious node's most attacks and isolate the malicious node effectively, make the nodes in TrustChord able to withstand the common security threats。Simulation results show that the TrustChord can defend the attack and reduce the impact of malicious nodes on the network。However, there are also inadequate, and more research and improvement need to do in the future。...
