Because the backbone networks have enough capacity to support broadband services, access network bandwidth is the bottleneck of the entire transmission network. The Ethernet-based EPON (EPON Ethernet over at a optical) is important technical means that realize broadband, multi-business comprehensive access in the future. It combines the advantages of both PON and Ethernet technology, with its high bandwidth, low cost, easy to use, easy to upgrade excellent characteristics of become the best choice for optical access network. In the cable TV network, the old HFC (Hybrid Fiber Coax) networks exist, in order to save costs, use on this section has paved lines, which introduced the EOC technology (Ethernet over cable).Currently, the EOC issued by the state administration of radio and the technology is not standard, but only has a standard draft. Formulation of standards is still under discussion. And this has led to different EOC technology exists. Every manufacturer chooses different EOC technology to realize own hardware platform. According to different hardware platform must develop specific network management system, which developed a network management system bring a lot of duplication of efforts and increase development cycle. In order to solve this problem, we designed and implemented a general adapter for EOC underlying hardware.This paper is divided into six chapters, is organized as follows:ChapterⅠ:Introduction. Introduce the research background, the current status of the research projects, proposed research task. ChapterⅡ:EOC Network Management System. This chapter describes the basic concepts of the EPON,EOC, and models of EOC network management system, also introduced the scheme selected for the adapter.ChapterⅢ:Software Reuse Technology. This chapter describes software reuse technology.ChapterⅣ:The design of EOC underlying adapter and reuse the source code. This chapter analyzes the reason of using based on source code reuse, and to compare different hardware platforms, common characteristics of these platforms will be extracted, and finally discusses in detail the different hardware platforms for the adaptation process.ChapterⅤ:Based on the underlying source code fragment reuse to achieve general adapter. In the earlier chapters of this chapter, based on the model proposed source components and design principles, and then introduces the process of generating source component.ChapterⅥ:Conclusion. Summary of the thesis work shows that the present results and the problems yet to be explored.
