In civil engineering construction, groud leveling, earthwork calculation and dispensation is an important work, which directly affect the project's investment budget and program optimization, and therefore calculate the earthwork accurately and rapidly in recent years become a hot issue. At present, but most of the construction work in the domestic calculation and dispensation of earthwork is working by manual, it is inefficient and the error rate is high. With the rapid development of computer technology, GIS technology has been increasingly used in the earthwork calculation and dispensation. But the existing research results show that the use of ArcGIS combine with Excel-VBA to calculate the earthwork dispensation is rarely seen. To get the optimization program, this paper calculated the earthwork of cut and fill and the shortest path of dispensation by ArcGIS, combined with the powerful data processing and statistical capacity of Excel-VBA, using the minimum element method to coordinate the various factors, and get the best solution ultimately, and to provide decision support for the project. The main work in this paper is as follows:(1) According to the original elevation points and design elevation points, and using the capability of space spatial analysis of ArcGIS to generate the contour lines quickly, that is the ground elevation model DEM. According to triangulated irregular network law, display and classified in the light of slope or elevation, compare the difference of the original contour lines and design contour lines, calculate the amount of cut and fill according to the triangular prism, and display the difference of cut and fill with the different color, and achieve the earthwork volume visualization.(2) Implement the programming based on the Geodatabase topological relation and Dijkstra's shortest path. According to the Dijkstra algorithm combine with the network topology relation of ArcGIS to gain the shortest path between the construction sites. Apply of the table-manipulation method to allocate the data obtained from ArcGIS, and the table is universal;(3) ArcGIS combine with Excel make the resulting data into Excel, and using the complex formula computing capacity of Excel-VBA to get the optimal solution and the minimum freight quickly and easily; (4) Establish the dynamic link between ArcGIS and Excel-VBA, edit the table of Excel directly through this link, it is reflected in the ArcMap by saving in Excel, achieve the results directly access to Excel.Calculate and dispense the earthwork among the 5 construction sites, the results show that the method can be easily and quickly adjusted to achieve the best solution to the earthwork, make up a single lack of software functionality, effectively avoiding computational complexity in artificial calculation, computing capacity, larger error and low efficiency, to achieve complete excavation from construction to transport the integration of visual computation, for the earthwork calculation and allocation of program optimization provides a new methods.
