As the result of the application of Internet technology in Geographic Information System(GIS),WebGIS has many advantages,such an low cost in the development and maintenance, exchange information in the internet,compared with the traditional GIS which has the function of integration,storage,retrieval,handling and analysis of geographic date.When the Ingernet technology has brought new opportunities for the development of GIS,the disadvantage of Internet technology results in some hidden danger existing in the practical application of WebGIS,such as identity disguising, illegal access and alteration of data.In recent years,the technology of security access based on the PKI framework has been in widespread use.As an important security infrastructure, PKI can provide service in the confidentiality,date integrity, identification of the date origin, entity identification and non-repudiation service.PKI gives the answer to "what is the indent of the visitor" and PMI gives the answer to "which privilege does the visitor have".With the PKI and PMI,it is easy to identify the visitor's identity and manage the privilege,therefore,it can make sure the application system been accessed by the legal visitor according the corresponding privilege.Because the date of WebGIS is characterized by non-repudiation and sensibility, in consideration of security access,this thesis take an application to WebGIS based on the research on the PKI framework.The technology of security access based on the PKI framework confirm the identity information according to the digital certificate. In addition,as the complement of PKI,PMI can provide the function of privilege management according to the attribute certificate (CA).In the first,this thesis gives the information of basic of PKI -- Public Key Cryptography theory in detail,such as the application of the Information Encryption and Digital Signature.In addition,this thesis propounds a algebra homomorphic Encryption Scheme Based on Fermat's Little Theorem. After that,this thesis gives the information of the based units of PKI/PMI, digital certificate (the identity certificate is used in Identity authentication and the attribute certificate is used in the privilege managemetn) and other theory.This thesis also introduces the specific application of PKI security access technology in WebGIS via a example.At last,this thesis summarized all work, as well as integrating the current development security access theory and technology,make a plan for the future research work based on the impossible defect with today.
