Information hiding technology which is proposed in information security and multimedia signal processing fields in recent years is a new method of solving the media information security. It hide permanently the secret information in the media publicly available information in order to Confirm the media ownership and data integrity or pass secret information, so it provides a new solution for the safety problems of the digital information. In the current network resources, Static image is the most commonly used resources, utilizing fully static image resources as the carrier can realize the secret information to open channels for information transmitting.so as to increase the hidden information and improve safety and achieve good robustness, This paper researches and discusses the static image based on the information hiding technology at first. Secondly, it introduces the basic concept of information hiding technology, basic theory and application field and so on. Thirdly it analyzes some existing algorithms and points out their advantages and disadvantages. At last, with the improvement and optimization of typical algorithms it proposes binary image hiding algorithm based on LSB and multiple secret sharing and based on discrete cosine transform. Also according to the characteristics of binary image, parity block algorithm based on the run-length coding is put forward. This paper simulates and tests the above two algorithm respectively. Experiments show that the hiding algorithm based on LSB has a good concealment, big hidden information capacity, etc and DCT-based hidden algorithm not only has good resistance to JPEG compression ability but also improves the security of information hiding. The end of the article points out the problems of existing in the research of information hiding technology and the future research areas.
