Car ownership has reached thousands of units in China, with the type and number of vehicles continues to increase, frequent theft and the traffic accidents cause harm to people more and more. Therefore strengthen and improve the real-time sports car of locating and tracking monitoring in order to improve the efficiency and security of vehicles on road safety was particularly urgent.As GPS(Global Positioning System) cancellation policy SA(Selective Availability) and growing popularity of Civil GPS, GSM (Global System of Mobile communication)has developed to 3G era and GIS(Geographic Information System) of rapid development, making the feasibility of the design based on GPS/GSM car locating and tracking movement monitoring system continuously enhance.This thesis with GPS/GSM mobile vehicles as monitoring terminal hardware platform and combining with GIS in VC++ environment design the monitoring center software of locating and tracking, In order to reduce the GPS module positioning error, system introduced the Kalman filtering algorithm to increase the accuracy of GPS positioning, System on the function mainly including serial interface communication module, kalman filter modules, the Access database module, electronic map module and man-machine interface module. For the design of system function module, Paper firstly analyzes the basic principle and the method of GPS global positioning satellite tracking technology, GSM nets mobile communication technology and GIS geographic information system, then focuses on the process under the environment of VC++ of realizing serial communication using the MSComm control, ADO Access database of detailed process operation, kalman filter algorithm realization process, MapInfo electronic map design and MapX control second development process and human-computer interface design process.Finally, the system function modules and the entire system has been debugged and tested. Testing process shows that locating and tracking the monitoring center each module is running well, can monitor terminal on GPS/GSM mobile vehicles to conduct real-time locating and tracking, the analysis of experimental results show that the monitoring center through the kalman filtering algorithm reduces the GPS positioning error, improve the GPS module tracking precision positioning, realize the terminal GPS/GSM vehicle real-time locating and tracking, stable operation, the effect is good.
