With the increasing number of city vehicles, the traffic environment becomes more and more crowed, which brings more inconvenience to drivers. When the driver is parking, the accident is easily happened due to the sight and narrow parking spaces etc. This brings a lot of unnecessary loses. Between the various assistant parking system currently, the surrounding view assistant parking system is able to provide effective support, which can generate the real-time overlooking image of the vehicle, and eliminate the blind spots around the body.On the basis of the research of the key technologies of the surrounding view assistant parking system, one program to implement this system is designed in this thesis. Four cameras are installed around the vehicle. The front and rear video images with the perspective effect are transformed into the overlooking effect by the inverse perspective transform, and the surrounding view overlooking image is generated by image mosaic. Image enhancement is used to improve the brightness and contrast of the low-illumination video image. The hardware and software structure are designed in this thesis and several results are achieved as following:(1)According to the relationship between the image coordinate system and the real world coordinate system, inverse projection transformation and nearest neighbor interpolation are used to establish the inverse perspective transform look-up table. By this table, the conversion from the perspective into the top view is transformed with high real-time performance.(2)The wide-angle cameras on the left and right side of the vehicle is set to shoot the ground vertically. This saves half of the image angle's conversion time under the premise that the field of the surrounding view image is guaranteed.(3)Image mosaic is completed under a certain distortion of the image, and surrounding view image mosaic table is established according to the spatial relationship between the images of each direction. The system can quickly generate the surrounding top-view image by this table.(4) Low-illumination image enhancement is applied in this system according to the influence brought by the low light. Several general low-illumination image enhancement algorithms are analyzed and compared in this thesis. An improved image enhancement algorithm is designed combined with local contrast enhancement technology.Totally, the surrounding view assistant parking system designed in this thesis can adapt to different light conditions, and the surrounding top-view image is able to be generated quickly by look-up table. The experiment results show the effectiveness and time performance of this system. The system designed in this thesis is able to satisfy the needs of assistant parking.
