Grain is the basis of the national economy. It is necessary to increase grain production while maintain reasonable grain reserve. Grain storage technology used to keep grain quality, reduce insect damage and contamination of toxic and hazardous substances, can not only greatly improve the economic value of stored grain, but also can be used to reduce post-natal loss, increase the effective supply of grain and ensure national grain security, maintain social stability. Grain storage experiment is the basis for large-scale grain storage. Only on the basis of the full experimental demonstration, large-scale grain storage could be promoted. However, grain storage experiment has long period. Experiments related to different roles of staff needs a clear division of labor and access control. Experimental resources require registration and management orderly. And experimental design and planning process is also required. Information management used for grain storage experimental data, experimental resources, experiment related staff, and experimental processes planning have improved management efficiency.In this paper, the background for the system development and grain storage experiment at this stage were introduced. Then the actual demand of grain storage experiment data management, data screening, resource management, staff management, process design were analyzed. The use of internet-based B/S structure information management system was proposed. Information technology which enables grain storage management was compared. Working principles of MVC design patterns and SSH(Struts,Spring,Hibernate) Framework were introduced. Finally, the various models of software development according to the actual needs were designed.The code of the whole system was completed gradually. And the application was debugged and deployed.This information management system for experiment of grain storage provided online services for experiment creation and approval, experimental resource management, staff mamagement and experimental data analysis and display. It achieved the information requirements for experimental management of grain storage. Practical application of the system achieved the expected results in Xiaotangshan grain storage experiment base.
