With the increasing needs of users and the rich diversity of wireless communication services, the limited network resources, especially the frequency resources, becomes more valuable. In order to efficiently use the precious frequency resources to meet different quality-of-service (QoS) requirements, interference management techniques have become an important research issue and play an important role in the next generation wireless communication networks. In this thesis, we study the interference management techniques in LTE-Advanced communication system, in which orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) and multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) have been acknowledged as two key information transmission and processing techniques. With the application of OFDM and MIMO, the content of interference management also has new changes. Or rather, there are more ways/methods to achieve interference management. This thesis mainly focuses on the resource allocation in OFDM system, user selection problem in OFDM-MIMO system, and interference alignment in multipoint-to multipoint interference channel. The major work and contributions of this thesis lie in several fields as follows:(1) Summarize the resource management techniques in OFDM system, and model the resource management as an optimization problem. Proposed a low-complexity power allocation scheme based on simulated annealing algorithm for multi-cell OFDMA systems(2) Give a deep survey and study of user selection problem in multiuser wireless communication system using zero-forcing beamforming (ZFBF) for spatial division multiple accesses (SDMA). A low-complexity user selection scheme achieving throughput-fairness tradeoff is proposed, when observing that most of the existing works in the area of user selection mostly focus on maximizing the throughput with reduced-complexity and note that an inherent drawback of the maximum sum rate criterion is the lack of fairness guarantees.(3) Analyze and summarize several typical multipoint-to-multipoint MIMO channel such MIMO X channel, MIMO interference channel, multi-user interference channel, and so on. Introduce the interference alignment techniques and propose a specific transmission scheme using interference alignment in LTE-Advanced system.
