The 21st century is the century of marine,as a Vessel Traffic Services(VTS) system vital technology of Radar Data Processing system is to protect maritime safety. Radar target detection and tracking is an important component of the radar system. The main task is to detect target in the case of noise and other flooding wave,obtained by the radar data processing,to get target parameters, such as position, speed, and so on,then to predict the location of target in the next moment,to achieve real-time tracking of targets.It was separated detection from tracking in the application of conventional radar systems.However, they interact each other. In order to achieve tracking,it needs to meet the conditions of the target detection. The signal detection is in the front of target tracking, and a good signal detection can improve the performance of target tracking. Meanwhile, tracking can also complete targets detection further, by tracing aim to remove the false targets, and by tracking the dynamic features to improve the ability of target detection and recognition. Therefore, this article proposes a new method to process interactively between signal detection and target tracking for radar, which gets the results of tracking feedback to the detection system, so that the detection system works well,then detect can guarantee accurately the next precise tracking.This article is mainly about joint of detection and tracking as a whole. Firstly, the article researchs systemically theory method of target detection and tracking for radar, detailed analysis of the coherent pulse, CFAR detection algorithm and the Kalman filter, adaptiveα-βfilter tracking algorithm. Secondly, it gives two kind of theory methods about detection and tracking interactive processing. Finally, it gives a detailed simulation experiment under of different background. By the analysis and comparison, it is verified that interactive processing can better improve detection and tracking performance.The implementation of radar target detection and tracking interactive processing based on DSP, is one focus of this thesis. This system adopts high-speed DSP board SDZ605 to constitute the system hardware platform. Having integrated devices such as A/D at a high speed, high-performance ADSP-TS201 and FPGA,etc. on SDZ605 board, radar target detection and tracking interactive processing is achieved through of DSP software programming, and is gived the implementation results. The experimental result shows, adopting the high-performance method of target detection and tracking interactive processing, through the optimized DSP software design based on the high-speed DSP board improves the velocity and precision of radar target detection and tracking, and reaches the system's real-time requirements.
