In many industrial system, all sorts of different types of feeding equipment should be used to transport various raw materials to designated location. Spiral feeder is one of them. Mainly used for various raw materials weighing in the automatic batching process such as granules or transfer with poor fluidity powder materials. in modern industry, Spiral feeder is widely used because of simple structure, good sealing, adapting ability., But have now, there is lack of the specifical research for spiral feeder controller. Based on the characteristics of spiral feeder and actual application needs, after the research at home and abroad about spiral feeder control and protection method, design a kind of core spiral ARM feeder control system.In theory, the paper describes the development and current status of asynchronous motor control methods in detail, and make a comparison of methods from various aspects. Especially, analyzes the direct torque control methods for low-speed screw feeder, so that the system can still maintain a good characteristics in low speed condition. In addition, makes an analysis deeply of principles and methods of motor fault diagnosis technology and puts forward a reasonable and comprehensive Spiral feeder protection scheme to achieve a comprehensive diagnosis of motor common faults.In hardware design, this paper adopts ARM9 series controller. First, introduces the architecture of ARM microprocessor, and then describes the main control module. The ARM microprocessor is running fast and able to perform complex control algorithms, can used to establish high-precision control system. All of this make the direct torque control system is possible to realize. With S3C2440 core, using waveform generator integrated circuit, designs a frequency control system of motor speed based on direct torque control, which includes main circuit and control circuit.In software design, this paper takes Linux as the embedded operating system based on the needs of motor control and fault diagnosis, and completed a cross-compiler tool chain, Bootloader, operating system kernel and root file system customization for the ARM hardware platform. Using the C language implements of direct torque control and completes the motor fault diagnosis.
