Array signal processing focuses on the way of extraction of both characteristics of received signals and useful features of sources which generate signals. And vector-sensor array signal processing has played an important role in the developing of the array signal processing in recent decades. Because of unlimited prospects in field related in communication, sonar, radar, land and ocean exploring, ECM(Electronic Counter Measures) and biomedical signal processing etc , vector-sensor array processing has become the research hotspot that scholars focused on.Traditional scalar sensor array on DOA estimation has a long research literature and also has made massive effort in academic region, the development of vector-sensor array is very rapid. Electromagnetic Vector Sensor (EMVS) is composed of three orthogonal electric dipoles and three corresponding orthogonal magnetic dipoles. The array formed by EMVS or trimmed vector sensors is called vector sensors array (VSA). As the VSA can acquire the polarization state of the impinging signals, it is often called polarization-sensitive array (PSA). Compared with traditional scalar sensor (TSSA), VSA has steady detective ability, higher space resolution as well as stronger anti-jamming ability, so we can say that it performs much better than the TSSA. Many scholars are more interesting in its practical application. The mass of method used in electromagnetic vector sensor array signal processing domain is based on linear array at present, but the UCA attracts less attention which has some excellent properties. Because the electromagnetic vector sensor array has rich redundant information, this paper will use them and combine with the concrete characteristic of the signal to research multidimensional parameter estimation based on different kinds of vector sensor array.Hamilton introduced quaternion into math in 1843.Compared with real and complex field, since the quaternion multiplication is not commutative, its study is much more complicated, and the theory of quaternion is developed slowly in the long time. But in recent two decades years, as the research on quaternion and quaternion matrix has generally become a hotspot in the algebra, many scientists applied quaternion into practice, one goal of study on quaternion is to find the way to resolve the problem in the interspace geometry via quaternion the same as in the plane geometry via complex number, and get more better performance. For instance, quaternion is used in the color image processing, according to the model, the Red, Green, and Blue values of each pixel of a color image can be represented as a single pure quaternion valued pixel. The purpose of applying quaternion into vector-sensor array parameter estimation is to make use of the multi-dimension characteristic of quaternion, that is, quaternion is able to express more signal information, then vector-sensor array parameters are estimated with theory of quaternion and other algorithms. The innovative work of this dissertation includes two aspects: First, a data covariance matrix based on quaternion function is amended, in the use of the right quaternion matrix eigenvalue decomposition and Q-MUSIC algorithm to improve the two component vector array signal the resolution of multi-parameter estimation; second, I try to construct quaternion model structure based on uniform linear array, uniform circular array, two parallel linear array of three electromagnetic vector sensor array structures, and use quaternion–music method to estimate signal parameters. The results show that the spectral estimation based on quaternion method is better and more effective than the conventional MUSIC .
