Ball mill is an important equipment be used to coal pulverization in the coal-fired power plant.The material location is a very important parameter and it influences the ball mill's working efficiency.So the mesurement of the material location is very important. This article analyzes the mechanism of ball mill's noise and the measurement.Designing a material level detector of ball mill using noise method.In the course of the design of the whole system,firstly,acoustical sound is picked up by a audio sensor connecting recorder.Secondly, the acoustical sound signal of different load is stored in the harddisk.Thirdly, the time and frequency-domain characteristic of the signal is analyzed on PC(using MATLAB). Thirdly, the entropy under different loads were calculated by using wavelet packet decomposition and reconstruction algorithm.The entropy were input to the leaset squares support vector machines, so that mathematical model is established between load and noise, and a standard is offered to control in the future. Then, the hardware and software platform based on TMS320VC5416 were established.The signal of ball mill is picked up by using electret audio sensor, and the noise signal is converted to voltage. In order to make the input voltage meet the input range of AD, the audio preamplifier circuit, anti-aliasing filter circuit and adder circuit were added.The voltage signal that converted by ad was input to TMS320VC5416,so the digital signal can be analyzed and handled.After finishing the digital signal,the information was output by two way:one is showing the material level of ball mill by LED,the other is outputing 4-20mA current through DA conversion circuit and the UI conversion circuit.In the circumstance CCS2.2, the algorithm program of calculating the entropy was compiled by wavepacket. The entropy that transmitted by DMA is stored in the external RAM, then the model established by the support vector machine was transplanted to the DSP. In order to realize offline running,the bootloader program was complied. First, this paper elaborates the overall design idea of ball mill material level detector, and then designes the technique detail of each mold, summarize the work in the end, and puts forward the suggestion to the work of further demand.
