Cognitive Radio Technology And Its Application In Frequency Selection Of HF Communication

Comparing to the gradual increase of radio equipments as time passing by, spectrum resource becomes more and more scarce. However, this situation becomes more obvious for HF communication. Regarded as a new approach to solve the problem of radio spectrum scarcity, cognitive radio technology improves the spectrum efficiency highly under the premise of no-interference to the major users. As a result, cognitive radio technology has become a hot topic of research in the field of wireless communication recently.First, this thesis introduces the fundamental principles of cognitive radio and frequency selection method for current HF communication. Consequently, it lays the importance on researching multiple spectrum sensing technologies of cognitive radio based on transmitters. Further, its applicability on HF communication is analyzed. The simulation result indicates that combined application of energy measurement method and cyclic-feature detection method shall be used to obtain the reusable spectrum gap. Then, a new type of HF radio station which is based on spectrum sensing technology is designed. Finally, this thesis introduces the traditional spectrum management and dynamic spectrum management. Simultaneously, it proposes the dynamic frequency selection flow of cognitive radio on HF communication.
