In this paper, circular polarization theory and technology are studied according tothe handsets requirements of satellite communication system. A proposed type ofcircularly polarized antenna which is based on the Yagi-Uda antenna is designed andsimulated through the analysis of some ordinary kinds of circularly polarized antenna.The antenna design includes radiation structure and feed network. Firstly, theperformance of the radiation structure is analyzed on the idea l feeding condition andthen optimize d to obtain both good impedance and radiation characteristic s. Secondly,the feed network is ma inly designed. Thirdly, the antenna is analyzed numerically ,fabricated and tested. The performance parameters of the antenna are compared ondifferent feed network condition. The radiation structure and the feed network arefurther optimized. The antenna not only has both good impedance and axia l ratiocharacteristics but also with high gain. |
