A three-dimensional target surface geometry modeling method based on quadric is studied in this paper. Three-dimensional geometric modeling method is to use the plane unit and the quadric (cylinder, cone, and ellipsoid) unit as the fundamental elements of the geometric modeling. The geometric modeling method is based on a new unified equation of quadric, the parameters of this equation have a clear geometric meaning, which express the intention of the geometric modeling and modeling process. The segmentation based on quadric, parameter fitting, as well as coordinate transformation, blanking and other modeling techniques are studied. The particle swarm algorithm is used to simply fit parameters of quadric. TGM geometric modeling software is introduced, based on this software the quadric geometric modeling is mainly studied. Because of the flexibility of the shape of the quadric, quadric geometric modeling can use less number of patches to obtain a more accurate representation of target. Because of the advantages of the quadric geometric modeling, the near-field characteristics of target echo of laser fuze is calculated based on the modeling method. The plane unit and the quadric(cylinder, cone, and ellipsoid)unit is used to approximate the surface of the three-demensional target geometry model, based on the surface material of the target and the measured BRDF data, the five-parameter statistical modeling is perfoermed by used of genetic optimizatiom algorithm. Target echo signal of laser fuze is calculated using the parameters and intersection of the fuze. This method is of short time and good effect.
