Gross is a very important index of the smoothness which is widely applied. The test equipment for gross-Gross Meter has three different levels of incoming light ray for different situations. But the test result of domestic gross meters is not very accurate by 85°incoming light ray.To solve inaccurate problem by 85°incoming light ray, a new gross meter based on ARM Cortex-M3 will be introduced here. In order to suit different situation, gross meter has been designed by three kinds of incoming light rays (20°,60°,85°) using Light Emitting Diode as light source. The reason of inaccurate problem is that there is only 5°between 85°incoming light ray and tested object. It is very hard to install 85°light source. We change the position of 85°light source, but don't change 85°incoming light ray, which solves the problem very well and ensures the accuracy. The reason for choosing Cortex-M3 Micro processing chip not only is cheap, low power consumption. With the use of USB, we can transfer our dates very conveniently.
