Virtual scene has being used more and more in all kinds of fields such as Medical, Military, Advertisement, Movie making, etc. At present there are mainly two methods to generate virtual scene:one is using 3D modeling. However, due to the limitation of current 3D modeling technology, it usually takes a lot of time to generate a virtual video and the result sometimes looks unrealistic when the scene contains complicated objects. Another method uses video materials to generate virtual scenes. This method is rich in materials and has realistic detail, but it is difficult to process. In order to conveniently use available video materials to generate virtual scene, we need an effective virtual video synthesis system base on video materials.Firstly, we analyze all the function needed by the virtual scene generating system based on video materials and propose the design of all function modules. In order to effectively manage massive video materials we propose a hierarchical video data model. Based on this model and the technology of video cutting, video scene classification and video object abstraction, we construct our video database, which is able to efficiently manage video material and support fast video search and browsing. We also analyze the interface and the integration of all of the modules.Secondly, in order to generate virtual scene effectively, we propose a method of video object editing in the process of virtual scene generating, including adjusting the object's size, rotation angel and movement path, etc. We focus on how to specify the movement path curve of foreground object which can make the foreground object and the background scene merge realistically.Thirdly, in order to make generated virtual scene more realistic, we analyze the influence of video dithering during virtual scene generating and propose a video shaky removal method based on the matching of object alpha video outline curve, which can remove video dithering effectively.Finally, we realized the virtual video synthesis system based on video materials and explained the important modules respectively. This system supports effective video accessing, video object editing and merging. We can use it to generate realistic virtual scene conveniently.
