Most modern industrial production process has a non-linear, time-varying, delay and other notable features which raised new challenges to the industrial real-time control problems. PID control with its simple structure, easy implementation, good control effect, clear physical meaning of parameters and many other advantages is widely used in industrial control field. The performance of PID control is directly related to its three parameters, Currently there are many exist PID controller tuning methods, But they all have some disadvantages more or less, in recent years, particle swarm algorithm has been applied to the PID controller parameters optimization successfully, The convergence speed of the algorithm is fast, and less parameters, easy procedures implementation, can dynamically self-tuning parameters which have a very good optimization effective.The research work of Particle swarm algorithm date from 20th century 90 years, with its advantages of simple principle, less parameters, fast convergence speed etc, The PSO get great development since it has been proposed. The first problem which need to be solved is the algorithm parameter settings when using the algorithm the to solve optimization problem, Form the beginning of this question, The paper mainly research on the improvement of the algorithm, The convergence of the algorithm, The selection of algorithm parameters, The visualization implementation of the algorithm and the classic application in control field of the algorithm and a series of questions, The main contents are as follows:1,First the paper introduced the background of particle swarm algorithm, discussed the principle,improvement Process,three common forms,topology of particle swarm algorithm and application & development of the algorithm.2,The paper summarizes several key improved algorithm which rise by predecessors, and on this basis, propose two new improved scheme, then demonstrated the feasibility and effectiveness improvement program from theoretical derivation and simulation analysis two aspects.3,The paper proposed several schemes and assumes of PSO algorithm visualization platform development, at the same time proposed the PSO algorithm MATLAB realization problem, and design a simple interface for simulation of PSO algorithm according to research content.4,The paper analysis the particle swarm algorithm parameter selection and convergence from theoretical and simulation experiments two aspects, and derive a more general conclusion that the values of parameters to ensure algorithm convergence bound at a right angle trapezoidal-house.5,The paper design a visual simulation platform For the particle swarm algorithm optimizing the parameters of PID controller, and to a commonly used second-order time-delay systems as a model, through the MATLAB simulation, The result also shows that the feasibility of the program and superiority.
