China's ceramic tile industry was advanced Rapidly in just a few decades time,and the production of tiles was ranked first in the world. With modern ceramic wall and floor tiles production technology's rapid development, detection of ceramic wall and floor tiles products must have a high speed, high precision, on-line automatic detection features, And to detect the direction of the audience. Therefore an urgent need to develop a high-precision automatic detection systems, to achieve fast dynamic audience measurement products of wall and tiles. In order to achieve automatic detection and classification of tile production, solve the problem of high cost, error large, low efficiency as the manual detection. This paper designed research on detection system of geometry size of tile based on digital image and automatic grading system.System consists of transmission, detection and classification. Based on the digital image principle, this system scans the ceramic tile in imaging region by using the linear array CCD video camera, and calculates the size parameters via the appropriate algorithm process. After that, it implements the classification according to the rate range. At last, the equipment places the tile at the relevant range area according to the classification. The ceramic tile size online detection device is a kind of equipment based on digital image. The upper computer is based on PC, and the software is developed by VC++6.0 and runs in the Windows system. And the ceramic tile image acquisition is implemented by CCD and image acquisition card. The same time, the traditional image processing methods were improved and Innovationed. And Design a completely new method of calculating the size of the tile to size detection. The lower computer is based on Omron PLC and realizes the tile classification and the integral control to the equipment. The upper and lower computer is connected via the serial communication RS232, and application of OMRON CJ1W-SCU21 type communication module defines its own communication protocol which improves the stability and real-time performance of the control system.The tile size can be directly displayed and the charts can be seen via real-time detection of the system, besides, the process parameters can be adjusted in time. Meanwhile, the ceramic tile can be classified automatically after detection.Results show: Tile length detection accuracy of the system is±0.1mm, edge straightness detection accurac is±0.05 mm, detection accuracy is 99%, detection efficiency is 2ingot/s. And is suitable for the quality control during the process of ceramic tile production.
