Research And Implementation Of Non-linear Editing System For MPEG-2 Standard Format

With the digital era, several of media publishers are getting a digital approach instead of the traditional analog signal way. MPEG-2 standard is suit of high quality digital video compression, and plays an important role in the HDTV, SDTV and DVD fields. MPEG-2 is an open, practical standard, it uses space and time correlation, carried out inter-frame and intra compression, which helps storage and transmission and ensures the image quality. The characteristics of the related frames structure in MPEG-2 makes it difficult in non-linear editing based on IPB frame video images.This paper presents a set of multi-media audio and video non-linear editing system, mainly composed by general-purpose editor preview module based on DES based on Microsoft's development toolkit and Visual C++\MFC development environment and bit stream splicing conversion modules based on MPEG-2 IPB standards. DES is a framework based on the core non-linear editing DirectShow programming interface, which is based on the time-line model, can be a variety of media formats automatically decode encoded operation, in order to achieve the unity of a variety of media formats. DES-based editing framework includes the management of the media material, media information access, editorial and creation control of the timeline, located real-time preview playback, separate audio and video integration, the preservation and restoration of the project structure, the output for specific documents and so on. For the common media files, through the DirectShow Decoder Filter in support of making a variety of different formats can be files centrally. For MPEG-2 standard bit stream realization of the direct splicing system module integration with DirectShow, so that the two can be seamlessly together. With no user settings, just make sure the inputting video format conform the MPEG-2 standard, then it can be automatically detected, and calls appropriate modules for processing.
