The original image in its acquisition, storage and transport process, due to many factors, will make the final image obtained degenerate, and if the degenerated image has not proper testing assessment and restoration processing, there will be a direct impact on the image processing part of the follow-up.The ocean is important area for human survival and development,so the underwater image is becoming an important research area and orientation. The restoration processing of the unwater degenerated image can restore the original image by the greatest extent,and by which can obtain a large number of important information.However,because of the complexity of underwater imaging,so how to restore the original image accurately is becoming an important research topic.The underwater image usually has a serious distortion because of the imaging complexity of the imaging system.The absorption of water will lead to light attenuation which reaches the target, and the scattering of water will make the image atomize. Among them, the scattering action of water includes forward scattering and backward scattering, and which represent system point spread function and additive noise in imaging system. The scattering action of water is the main cause of image degeneration.Moreover,with the shooting distance increases, the imaging detail blurreds, and these factors make underwater imaging become very difficult. Thus, underwater digital image restoration technique is to solve such problems,which uses different restoration methods to make these degenerated images get restored results by the greatest extent.This paper that bases on commonality and rea-time has a detailed study about the digital image restoration, and has a comparative study on several image restoration method to make sure that the wiener filter is one of the good method to restore the underwater image.There is a selective analysis about the imaging principle of underwater image and the impact of scattering light.And for the special imaging mechanism of underwater images, this paper raises a physical model which is to make the underwater image degeneration system applicable, and has a systematic and detailed analysis on the characteristics of the system transfer function and the backward scattering,and deduces the corresponding formulas, and determines the filter parameters based on the principle of wiener filter so as to restore the degenerated image.And the experiments show that the method can restore image detail well, so it has some innovative and feasible.
