Cloud Computing is a new method of sharing infrastructure, the resources can be connected into a huge pool to provide various IT services. Many factors contributed to such needs, including real-time data stream, SOA adoption, and open collaboration, social networking and mobile commerce applications with rapid growth of Web2.0. In addition, the rapid growth of the performance of hardware device also laid the groundwork of cloud computing, which further strengthened by a unified cloud management needs. Cloud computing has been considered as an "revolutionary computing model," because it makes the super-computing power into free circulation through the Internet possible. Enterprises and individual users no longer need to purchase and maintain expensive hardware, they only need the Internet to rental computing power.Cloud may provide us an alternative to traditional computational tools in high performance scientific computing area. The availability of these large and virtualized pools of compute resources raises the possibility of a new compute paradigm for scientific research with many advantages:For research groups, cloud computing provides convenient access to reliable, high performance clusters and storage without to purchase and maintain sophisticated hardware. For developers, virtualization allows scientific codes to be optimized and pre-installed into machine images, facilitating control over the computational environment.Performance is the focus in scientific computing, The performance of single VM and VMs cluster was tested in the thesis, Although comparing with the traditional cluster technology, speed of the VMs in cloud is unsatisfactory at the moment, But as technology improve, cloud computing is likely to play a more active role in the cloud computing. We have build a cloud computing platform for scientific computing with the help of Nimbus. Nimbus is an open source toolkit that allows you to turn your cluster into an Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) cloud. It can launch self-configuring virtual clusters with one click. In this thesis, We have build a cloud enviorment based on Nimbus, and then an application was performed in this enviorment.
