Research On Cacheability Of Web Objects And Model Of Cache Consistency

Web caching is one of the key issues of web acceleration technology. There are two problems should to be resolved before web caching can be put into practice. Firstly, we should determine whether the web objects can be cached and the efficiency of caching the objects. Secondly, with the dynamic content and personal services in the web service growing, cache consistency assurance becomes more challenging.In order to research web objects'cacheability and improve efficiency of web cache system, the evaluation model of web cacheable objects, which based on request methods, HTTP response status and HTTP parameters, was proposed. Cacheability Index and Cacheability Percentages in evaluation model are employed to evaluate cacheability of web object, while web cache's efficiency can be measured by values of Cache Speed-up in this paper. Then, the model of web cache consistency, made up of user requests model and object updates model, is proposed for measure efficiency of consistency algorithm. According to server hit and cache hit in this model, the efficiency of consistency algorithm can be measured. Experimental results show that: the more server hits, the higher efficiency of web consistency algorithm, which web resourses can be used more efficiently.
