The research of this thesis is derived from a project named as"The Research on Wideband HF Spread Spectrum Technology". The goal of this project is to design and implement the wideband HF burst data transmission system on the hardware platform with making use of spread spectrum method. This thesis lays emphasis on the design and implementation of this HF spread spectrum communication system based on the Xilinx chip.Firstly, the basic theory of spread spectrum communication is introduced, and then taking into consideration of the requirements of technical target, the implementation scheme of this system is designed, including the transmitting part and the receiving part. Secondly, the system is divided into several modules with the Top-Down method according to different characteristics of algorithm of each module. Detailed block diagram of structures and simulation waves are given based on the principle of the HF spread spectrum communication system. Finally, after timing analysis the system is tested in the hardware electric circuit whose core is Xilinx Spartan chip using Verilog HDL, and the received data captured by ChipScope Pro is the same as the transmitted data, verifying the correctness of the spread spectrum system.
