LTE (Long Term Evolution) is the evolution of 3G radio network architectures by 3GPP, which can improve the primary air-interface via providing a higher transmission rate, reducing system latency and increasing system throughput. Channel coding, modulation, pre-coding and MIMO are the essential technologies of LTE physical layer. Pre-coding can achieve suppression of the MIMO channel interference with channel state information(CSI), significantly improve system performance and simplify receiver processing complexity. This thesis mainly focus on the study involved in the link level simulation and performance analysis based on these technologies. This thesis is subdivided in four steps. The MIMO correlation channel model including the generation of multipath Rayleigh fading channel and the antenna correlation matrix is discussed at first. Then the work of this thesis is centered in the study of different simulation results of channel capacity under different correlation coefficients. And then the thesis mainly presents the development of a LTE Link Level Simulator based on LTE physical layer specifications. Finally detailed study of codebook based pre-coding algorithms is presented, which can reduce the complexity of matrix operations and the system latency by using the Householder matrix algorithm and Strassen algorithm in signal detection and codebook selection process. Finally, the simulation results based on both AWGN channel and MIMO correlation channel are discussed.
