Field prediction for wireless communications is the basic issue for the whole wireless network planning. It is important to make an accurate prediction for the location of the base station. The digital map that used in ray tracing algorithm is studied in this dissertation. The virtual source tree ray tracing algorithm is realized and verified by the data in the literature. The main works are as follows:1) The familiar microcell statistical models, which include ITU-R microcell propagation model, LEE microcell propagation model and double rays model, are analyzed .The applied conditions and range of each model are summarized.2) Based on the file format of the digital map, the data is loaded and saved by partitioning with the demand of the ray tracing algorithm, so the map information can be read automatically. The revised map can further improve the efficiency and universality of the algorithm.3) The shelter estimation and the creation of the virtual source tree are improved. The virtual source tree ray tracing algorithm based on projectivity4) The propagation loss at different testing points in actual condition is simulated. The accuracy of the ray tracing algorithm is verified by compared with the testing data. , reflection and diffraction is realized with the digital map of the radio waves propagation environment. The radio propagation path in two-dimensional condition is firstly obtained, and the three-dimensional path is deduced by geometrical operation with the relationship of two-dimensional path and three-dimensional path...
