Recently, with the development of network and computer technology, multimedia security research has become the focus of attention, particularly the advantages of using chaos to protect digital images in image encryption, it is considered as one of the promising research areas. The chaotic image encryption system based on hardware implementation, digital signal processor (DSP) in real-time image and video processing has a great advantage:high computing speed, data processing capacity, low cost, which makes it is suitable for the chaotic image encryption system. In this paper, digital image encryption system based on chaos has been deeply researched. The main work of this paper is as below:First, this paper proposes two new image encryption algorithms. The first algorithm is based on compound chaotic sequences and wavelet transform. This algorithm uses compound chaotic sequence to diffuse the image, and then does wavelet transform to diffuse image and get the encrypted image. The second image encryption algorithm is based on chaos and shift. Using different chaotic sequences to handle the image and shift operation, which changes the distribution and the value of the pixel gray.Next, this paper introduces a method of design a image encryption system based on chaos. Using this method design an image encryption system based on chaos. Chosing the DSP as core according to the requirement of the system, and the specific chip is TMS320DM642. This paper divide the system into six parts:TMS320DM642, store module, image I/O module, liquid crystal box module, image sensor and power module. This paper describes the details about the modules.At the end of this paper, we achieve the second algorithm in the hardware environment by software programming. The algorithm can be well performed in the procedure of capturing the image, encrypting the image and decrypting the image.
