Mobile-broadband and broadband-mobile has become the goal of the development of telecommunication. UWB-ROF is the integration of UWB (Ultra-Wide Band) and ROF(Radio Over Fiber). This technology uses fiber as the transmission media to transmit the carrier-free UWB signal. It can meet the requirements of high-capacity transmission, high-speed access and wide range covering. The generator of UWB pulse is as the basic unit of the UWB-ROF system. It plays a crucial role in the realization of the transmission system of UWB-ROF.In the Paper, an approach to generating and distributing ultra-wideband (UWB) pulses in optical domain was studied and dicussed.The main work of this thesis can be list as followds:1. The basic principles, key technologies and research status of the technologys of UWB and ROF are summarized in this paper. Also, the advantages of UWB pulse generation used microwave photonic technology are carried out.2. The paper analyzed dispersion which influences optical carrier and chirped Gaussian pulse transmission in the fiber. We can draw some characteristics of the chirped Gaussian pulse transmission in dispersion optical fibers by simulation.3. In the paper it analyzed and compared the generation schemes of UWB pulse at home and abroad. The discussion related to the generation schemes of UWB pulse from electrical domain and optical domain; Analysis and discussion focused on the generation scheme of UWB pulse in the optical domain. The advantages and disadvantages of each program are summarized.4. An approach to generating and distributing ultra-wideband (UWB) pulses in optical domain was studied and discussed. Parameters affecting the performance of Gaussian pulse waveform such as full wave half maximum and time delay were simulated. Reasonable set of these parameters can make time-domain waveform and frequency domain performance more optimized. The paper also discussed the affection of Second-order Gaussian pulse as the input signal. The simulation results displayed second-order Gaussian pulse as the input signal was more optimized than Gaussian pulse as the input signal to the output signal performance of UWB pulse signal.5. The paper also analyzed the transmission of UWB pulse signal in the dispersion fiber. The simulation of chirp-free pulse signal and chirp pulse signal of the transmission in the fiber were also discussed.
